Seizure Response Dog
Ohio Trip Blog- Day 10- May 13th 2008
Today was a pretty good day. Alex still needed nebulizer treatments and he
had Myoclonics throughout the day especially towards the end of the day.
Treasure does pick up on most of the Myoclonics meaning when Alex has one
Treasure perks his head up. This is a good thing but believe it or not we
will discourage Treasure from responding to the Myoclonics. What we want
Treasure to respond to are the Tonic Clonic seizures that Alex may have at
night and is what Treasure has been trained for. In training Treasure does a
great job on recognizing Alex's seizure scents.
Today we were in class for half the day and then made another trip to the mall to test Beth and I as handlers. We all did great!
The video shows Alex playing right in front of Treasure in the hotel lobby and demonstrates Treasures discipline. The video also shows Treasure perking his head up after Alex has a Myoclonic.
