Ohio Trip Blog- Day 2- May 5th 2008
Alex had a fairly good first night. As usual Beth had to sleep with him but that is a normal night. Today was the "getting settled day". Our hotel room has a kitchen so we are able to prepare our own meals. We went food shopping and drove to 4 Paws so that we would know exactly where it was. We turned into the parking lot to turn around and leave and while doing that, thru the fence at 4 paws, we seen a glimpse of a Golden Doodle. Right away we all looked at each other wondering if it was Treasure. We were in the van and decided to stay in the van and go back to the hotel. Getting out of the van to get a closer look would have just been a big tease.

After lunch we went to the basketball court and played around a little. Alex started to get jumpy so Beth took Alex back to the room to try to get him to nap while I took the kids to the pool which they enjoyed thoroughly. I tried to talk Beth into taking the kids to the pool while I take Alex for a nap but she wouldn't hear of it.

We did a great job in packing and thinking of everything...especially Beth. But we forgot one important item...Alex's stroller. the stroller is an extremely useful tool in limiting Alex's physical activity when we need to do so. So we decided to go to the local Walmart to get one. When we got back we played around while Beth got super ready. Let me paint the scene.....Beth has a glass of wine poured enjoying preparing a meal for her family, onions chopped, raw chicken on the counter, pans on the stove prepared for cooking, and THE STOVE TOP BURNERS DON"T WORK!!!! We immediately checked all the obvious things that could be wrong and then called the front desk. They said that the maintenance department wouldn't be in until 8:00am. So me Billy and Angela went off to get take-out. I made a stop by the front desk requesting to see the manager but she also isn't in until 8:00am. I made it abundantly clear that I needed to talk to the manager first thing in the morning. I'll keep you posted on that tomorrow.

Tonight we relaxed and watched the Bee Movie. Alex just went to bed (10:20pm) and we are excited to meet Treasure tomorrow!!!!!!!!! Good night.
