Seizure Response Dog
Ohio Trip Blog- Day 5- May 8th 2008
Today was another big day! Treasure
received his service harness. This means that he is able to go out in
public. Notice that I said he and not we. We, Beth and I, are still getting
training on taking Treasure out in public. At the end of class today we were
instructed to pack up the family and go to the local Walmart where we were
to go and do some mock shopping to get used to brining Treasure in public.
We were not alone because, Jen, a 4-Paws trainer was there to give us
pointers and to give us assistance if we needed it. It went very well. I
believe that we now can bring Treasure out into stores without the presence
of a Trainer....Exciting!!
Treasure is having no issues so far bonding with Alex. In fact Alex slept until 5:00am!! THAT IS HUGE!! I would be forever in Treasure's dept if I can sleep in bed with my bride again! We'll see how tonight goes. Alex and Treasure are passed out together as they both had a very busy day.
I can't ....I mean... WE can't express the gratitude to the many people who made all this possible. We are truly blessed! We initially thought that we would have the weekend "off" from training but I don't think that's the case but we'll ask the question tomorrow. I have a funny story......We went to the pool after super and we thought it would be a good idea for all of us to go down together and then Beth branch off with Alex in the stroller along with Treasure. All went well except for when they went outside to let Treasure do his business. After Treasure pooped Beth took out a poop bag to pick it up WEEELLLLL the bag had a hole in it and she got poop all over her hand! GROSS. Beth being the person she is just took in stride. Oh yeah, and I saved a little girl from drowning in the pool.
As most of you know we are a spiritual family and we can't help but feel the Holy Spirit at work here!
