Seizure Response Dog

Ohio Trip Blog- Day 7- May 10th 2008
Today was a good day. Alex had a restless sleep because he is starting to get a cold. He most likely got the cold from one of the many children he has been interacting with throughout the day(s). We had a short class today and then we all went to the mall. 4-paws wants us to get used to brining treasure out into the public and they also want to see how we react to certain situations. Well we initially met in the busiest part of the the mall......THE FOOD COURT. Not only does Treasure get exposed to all of the commotion but he also gets his will tested in every french-fry or morsel of food that gets dropped on the floor. We sat and had lunch and Treasure behaved wonderfully. Then we decided to venture off on our own before Jeremy the lead trainer got there. We first practiced putting Treasure in a down position throughout the halls of the mall and he and we did fine. Then we got bold and went into a department store. It was a little getting used to at first but we and he adjusted fine. At one point Treasure had about 8 kids in front of him so I decided to "show" Treasure off and asked the kids if they wanted to see a trick....the answer was a resounding YES. So I had Treasure wave HI to all the kids. Needless to say Treasure was a big hit. We then went to meet Jeremy so he could observe us in action. I stayed in the play area with the kids and Beth, Treasure and Jeremy went around the mall. Beth did great!

Since we had training through the weekend we had to find the best Mass time to go to....we decided that Saturday night was the best one to go to. Treasure and Alex did perfect. We are glutens for punishment so we decided to go out to eat after Mass. We went to the Red Robin. WOW....what a busy place! As soon as we walked into the door I looked at Beth with that "what are we nut's" for doing this look. After Treasure performed a few hellos in the lobby it was time to sit in our seat. We positioned Treasure under the table and the meal went fine except for Alex's rambunctiousness. We hardly ever go out to eat because Alex cannot sit still and I usually have to swallow my meal and then chase Alex around. I like to be the one to chase Alex around so that Beth can relax and enjoy her meal....she does enough during the week so she deserves that at least!

PHHHEEWWW what a busy day but it went great! Alex was getting more and more congested as the day went along so we had our fingers crossed that it wouldn't get worse.
