Seizure Response Dog
Ohio Trip Blog- Day 9- May 12th 2008
Today was a good day. Alex's high temp
was gone but he still needed nebulizer treatments throughout the day and he
will be due for another one around 10:00pm tonight. Alex did come to
training today and we were successful in keeping his physical activity to a
minimum, in fact, we actually got to him to take a very long nap. The
bonding between Alex and Treasure has been incredible. Treasure was in the
bedroom with me as I was preparing tonight's blog and Alex was about to lay
down for bed in the other room and Alex did not want to go to bed without
Treasure......Treasure was more than happy to accommodate Alex and did not
hesitate to jump right on Alex's bed and cuddle beside him. Beth and I are
also doing a great job in training Treasure. We have a superb teacher to
thank for that in Jeremy.
Tonight was really great because Angela and Sarah came for a visit and then we had a pizza party after. The entire hotel lounge area was filled with children and service dogs....it was awesome. Angela and Mark are great people and have 2 girls, Katherine who is our Angela's age and Sarah who is four and has Dravet like Alex. The video below shows the kids playing and Treasure doing his "Hello" trick.
I've been wanting to shave my beard off for a while so I made it a fun task for the kids. I sat down on the floor and had the kids go to town. Beth was there to supervise so that a trip to the ER for stitches was not needed.
